These diseases are grouped as water borne, air borne, vector borne and fomite borne diseases etc. among these water borne diseases are more severe such as diarrhoea, cholera, typhoid etc.Diarrhoea is one of the commonest causes of morbidity among young children in developing countries. India has the highest infant mortality rate in the world. Diarrhoea is the second largest cause of childhood mortality in the world. More than 1.5 million children of under five age continue to die each year as a result of acute diarrhoea in developing countries. Diarrhoeal disease is a major public health problem in developing countries.
