CHEMICAL COMPOSITION OF VOLATILE EXTRACT OF ERIGERON BONARIENSISAND ITS ANTIMICROBIAL ACTIVITY
Abstract:-
The genus Erigeron (family Asteraceae) consists of more than 400 species. A large number of the Erigeron species yield essential oils rich in biologically active polyacetylenic compounds /terpenoids and are reported to possess diverse biological activity, viz., antibacterial, antifungal and genotoxic1 (Awen et al., 2010).Erigeron bonariensis (L.) is Commonly called “Gulava” or “Mrichbooti”.
A STUDY ON SOCIAL-PSYCHOLOGICAL ELEMENTS AND MARITAL CONTENTMENT AMONG MARRIED COUPLES
Abstract:-
Significant difference was found between the husbands and wives on the variable Stress Tolerance. The husbands had more Stress Tolerance than the wives. No significant difference was found between husbands and wives on the variable Altruistic Behavior but the variable emotional adjustment shown significant difference among the husbands and wives. Such as, husbands were more emotionally adjusted than the wives.
CONCEPTS OF POWER TEST (A), SAMPLE SIZE AND SAMPLING
Abstract:-
The concepts of hypothesis testing, trade-offs between Type I and Type II error, and the use of power in choosing an appropriate sample size based on power when designing an experiment are routinely included in many surveys and research. However, many researchers do not fully grasp the importance of these ideas and are unable to implement them in any meaningful way at the conclusion of the research. This paper presents methods, questions, tables to help understand the role of power in hypothesis testing and allow obtaining numerical values without having to perform any calculations.
Abstract:-
Persisters or metabolically dormant bacterial cells are much less sensitive to antibiotic and do not grow in their presence. Different explanations for this phenomena are widely circulated in the literature and in the heart of it is the role of toxin and antitoxin (TA) systems. Where, the more labile antitoxins are readily degraded under stress conditions, allowing the toxins to exert their effect and force some cells to be dormant.
Abstract:-
The study investigated the effect of Reflective-Reciprocal Teaching strategy on achievement in Basic science among junior secondary school students in Taraba state. The study determined the mean achievement of students taught Basic science using RRTS and those taught with conventional strategy; it also determined gender differential in Basic science achievement of junior secondary school students taught using RRT strategy and; investigated the achievement gain among different ability levels taught Basic science using RRT strategy.
GLAUCOMA AND NEUROPROTECTION: THERAPEUTIC PERSPECTIVES
Abstract:-
Glaucoma is the main cause of irreversible blindness worldwide. It affects approximately 70 millions of people in the world. It is an optic neuropathy. It is characterized by a functional damage, caused by progressive retinal ganglion cells (RGC) and their axons progressive loss
MICROBIAL DEGRADATION OF CYPERMETHRIN BY SOIL ISOLATED BACTERIUM Pseudomonassp
Shanmugananthan. S* P. Balamurugan** S. Suganthi***
Abstract:-
The cypermethrin degrading bacteria was isolated from a pesticide contaminated soil(Agriculture field) by enrichment technique with the sole carbon source and energy. Morphological, physiological and biochemical characterization of the bacterium identified Pseudomonas species. Biodegradation of waste water containing cypermethrin at different concentrations like 25, 50,75 and 100 mg/l by Pseudomonas sp. has maximum reduction of COD at 89.60% and 26 % respectively. The Cypermethrin analysed by HPLC indicated that the isolated bacterium can be used to clean the contaminated pesticide waste water in the environment.
